Ocean State Veterinary Specialists (OSVS) is seeking a seventh internist to join our team. OSVS is a large and busy 24 hour emergency and specialty referral center located in East Greenwich, Rhode Island. The hospital is a 26,000 sq. ft. facility offering referral and emergency services to the RI, eastern CT and southern MA areas. There is no general practice associated with the hospital. Requirements Candidate must be a Diplomate of ACVIM OR residency trained, and eligible to sit for certifying exam. Candidate must be eligible to obtain a license to practice in Rhode Island. OSVS is a large, 55+ doctor, 26,000 sf hospital in East Greenwich, RI, with a smaller sister facility in Swansea MA. The main hospital in RI has a full-time radiologist who performs between 15 and 20 ultrasound examinations a day, reads all of the radiographs for both hospitals, reads CT scans and some MRI scans, runs the radioactive iodine treatment program and reads radiographs for referring veterinarians via teleradiology. The radiologist also participates in the teaching of interns, residents, and student externs. OSVS provides referral and emergency services to RI, eastern CT, and southern MA. There is no general practice associated with the hospital. The staff includes specialists in: Internal Medicine (5) Surgery (4) Cardiology Radiology Emergency / Critical Care (2) Neurology Oncology Ophthalmology Clinical Pathology Avian / Exotics As well as a large group of experienced Emergency Clinicians Requirements The support staff is highly trained and enthusiastic about continuing education. There is a well-respected rotating Internship, Emergency/Critical Care Residency, Emergency/Surgery Internship, and Surgery Residency. The emergency case load is high, and the cases challenging.
